Jesus says, He will identify true disciples by their fruit...not by how well they use their gifts, not by how well they pray in public, and not if they speak in tongues, etc. Jesus says, My true disciples will bear much fruit!
How are we supposed to be filled with the Holy Spirit?
Step #1. Instead of praying, “Lord use me” begin to pray, “Lord, transform me!”
When we say “use me” it inevitably puts the focus on US! It puts the focus on our gifts, our talents, and our treasures. It puts the focus on the things that WE have done or are doing. A lot of that is good, but that is not the mark of someone who is filled with the Holy Spirit.
